ABOUT

The Law Association
Mission Statement

The function of the Hastings & Prince Edward Law Library is to provide a solid practice library with a range of traditional and technologically enhanced resources in order to supply timely and accurate access to the sources of law and to continue to offer professional development opportunities and materials to our members.

History

By 1841 the county had access to local courts but local government was not yet in place. The 1849 Baldwin Act established the main classifications of a municipality, (designation by City, Borough, Regional Municipality and/or County) all of which still form the basis of the system in place today. The County of Hastings was incorporated in 1850.
